How Hormones Affect Diet
Our hormones affect almost every aspect of our bodies; they’re responsible for bodily functions like metabolism, respiration, digestion, excretion, sleep and more. With all of this influence, it’s no wonder that hormones greatly affect our ability to lose weight. A healthy diet consisting of foods that help detoxify the body, however, can reset your hormones and you can shed excess weight.
How Hormone-Based Weight Loss Works
Through a five phase system, the Innovative Medical Weight Loss team supervises a weight loss plan that is created specifically for your body. The team will identify what hormones and habits are holding you back from losing weight and help you to balance them for a healthier lifestyle that will help you shed pounds and keep the weight off. Here is our five phase process.
Phase I: Discover
Our Innovative Medical Weight Loss’ medical weight loss team will work with you to discover why you are having issues losing weight. During this phase, you will have a lab testing panel done.
Lab testing includes measuring:
- Stress Hormones
- Sex Hormones
- Thyroid Function
- Inflammation Levels
- Vitamin Deficiencies
- Blood Sugar Levels
Once these tests are completed and analyzed, your weight loss counselor will sit down with you to explain what your results mean and begin factoring them into your weight loss diet plan.
Phase II: Remove
After discovering which behaviors and bodily factors are keeping you from losing weight, you’ll begin the process of removing them. You will start by detoxifying your body for an optimal fat burning environment, beginning a high protein diet and meal plan that best fits your schedule, and be introduced to medical weight loss tools that your counselor will handpick for you. Through one-on-one nutrition counseling, your counselor will be on your weight loss journey with you every step of the way for advisement, reassurance, celebration and different diet tips and recipes to try.
Phase III: Accelerate
While you begin to lose weight and continue working toward your healthier lifestyle, we help boost your energy and fat loss for even more results with diet foods, weight loss tools and nutritional supplements. Your counselor will track which of these tools works best for you and adjust as necessary, so that you are able to keep your body in weight loss mode.
Phase IV: Transition
By the time you’ve reached the transition phase, you will have lost an accelerated amount of weight and will still continue to lose a few pounds a week. With all these healthy changes happening in your body, it’s time to start making the outside look just as good with shaping and sculpting. You’ll focus more on building muscle and toning areas rather than burning fat from them. We also offer body contouring treatments that can be used in this phase to help tighten skin and smooth cellulite.
Phase V: Maintenance
Give yourself a big congratulatory hug because you are finally at your goal weight! You’ll meet with your counselor to celebrate your journey and all that you’ve learned, as well as take an “after” photo.
Once you’ve met with your counselor a final time, you can choose to continue with our services if you feel you still have more weight to lose. Even patients that have finished their programs can still continue to check-in with their counselor, and continue purchasing supplements, foods or body contouring services.
